Our Origin

The contemporary world is defined by a marked trend toward increasing militarization and the expansion of defense capabilities. Within this context, the stability of nations is increasingly challenged by emerging security threats that test the limits of conventional security systems.

Recognizing the transversal nature of security and its intrinsic connections with peace, stability, and development — particularly in West Africa — ROCS was created to address local challenges through locally grounded expertise that is globally informed and firmly rooted in field knowledge and stakeholder engagement.

Our Mission

ROCS Security was established in response to the pressing need to enhance and strengthen good governance in the security sector through innovation, capacity-building, and strategic collaboration with both statutory and non-statutory security actors.

Our singular objective: to develop strong security sector governance for stability in Africa.
